Reduce, reuse, recycle and care

Here are some of the ways we’re making positive changes.

LED bulbs use a lot less energy and save us money on running costs.

That might mean wearing an extra jumper on cold days, but it reduces our carbon footprint.

Meat production is a huge contributor to global warming.

When disposables can’t be avoided we make sure they are recycled.

We’ve built a bug hotel, installed nest boxes, and are growing native plants to attract pollinators.

We’ve planted hundreds of spring flower bulbs on the ring road roundabout next to St Paul’s.

Through teaching and prayer, we encourage our congregation to cherish the beauty and diversity of God’s creation.

Through our actions as a church, we aim to encourage sustainable lifestyles and environmentally conscious choices.

In our purchasing and lifestyle decisions we consider impacts on people and environments.

Our electricity supply is from 100% renewable sources.

We’ve installed recycling bins for paper, plastics, writing implements, dental products, and bakery packaging.

St Paul’s holds a Silver Award as part of Christian Environmental charity, A Rocha UK’s award scheme for churches.

Our group monitors how we are doing, plans activities and prays about environmental issues.
